ON THIS DAY, IN THIS PLACE

Monday 2nd October – Sunday 8th October

ON THIS DAY, IN THIS PLACE
ELECTRIC ANGEL.

‘On this day, in this place’ seeks to use memories and maps to collate 10 stories from the local community that are rooted in the locale and place them, via temporary artworks, back in the places from where the stories came.

Designer / text artist Adrian Riley will be in residence at Western Library on Monday 2nd October collecting stories from users of the library. Honed down to a resonant or intriguing single phrase, these will re-emerge in the surrounding locale by the end of the week to be discovered by chance.

Adrian has worked across the North of England creating public artworks including phonetic birdsong panels at RSPB Bempton, a text-based public art scheme in Kingswood Parks Primary School, and glass panels on Bridlington seafront with artist Rachel Welford.
